WHO IS THIS COURSE FOR? If you only use natural light because you're scared of flash, or you can't quite get your lights to do what you want them to, this course is for you. This workshop is aimed at all intermediate or beginner level photographers who wish to master the use of studio lighting or simply grow their existing knowledge and learn effective setups to use in their work. WHAT ARE THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THIS COURSE? Basic knowledge of camera functions. No lighting knowledge or studio experience is needed for this course. HOW IS THE CLASS STRUCTURED? The class starts with a practical introduction to the main types of studio strobes and with a hands-on test of the available modifiers to know exactly what type of light to expect from each one (essential to a successful lighting setup!) We will be also exploring topics such as angle, distance, light fall off, shadows placement, background colour, hard and soft light and much more. After the initial intro, the hands-on shoots begin. Throughout the day, we will explore both simple and more complex lighting setups, also covering elements such as art direction and model direction. I will show you my favourite go-to setups. The day will feature a professional model styled by a makeup/hair artist. You will have plenty of time to individually shoot the model in the different lighting scenarios, to first-hand experience the different lighting setups and shoot new exciting portfolio images. WHAT WILL THIS CLASS TEACH ME? This workshop will leave you with all the knowledge you need to easily master studio flash lighting, to feel confident in the studio, and consistently improve the quality of all your photography work to come. |
